A Clearwater Dentist Minutes From Every Neighborhood

Our office sits at 1651 Rainbow Dr, Clearwater, FL 33755, one block off Sunset Point Rd between Highland Ave and Keene Rd. That puts us roughly in the center of Clearwater: about five minutes from Countryside and Northwood, ten from downtown, Harbor Oaks and the Cleveland Street district, ten from Clearwater Beach, Island Estates and Sand Key over the Memorial Causeway, and ten to fifteen from East Clearwater and the Belcher Rd corridor, Skycrest, Morningside, Belleair and Belleair Bluffs. Neighbors in Dunedin, Safety Harbor, Largo and Palm Harbor are typically 10 to 20 minutes away.

The building is a stand-alone office with free parking at the door — no parking garage, no medical-plaza maze, and no US 19 merge required if you come up Highland, Keene or Belcher. Coming from the beach or downtown, take Fort Harrison or Myrtle north to Sunset Point and turn east; from Countryside, take Enterprise or Sunset Point west.

We are a fee-for-service office: we file claims for every PPO plan (Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Guardian, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana and others) and most patients receive their out-of-network benefits. We cannot bill Medicaid, HMO, DMO, or DSNP plans. Patients without insurance use the $420/year membership plan or monthly financing. Details on our insurance and financing page.
At most private offices in Pinellas County a new-patient exam with X-rays runs $100–$300. At Cannady Dental it is a flat $99 for the exam, full digital X-rays, and a written plan; every recommended treatment comes with a written price before any work starts. Ongoing care is predictable through the Healthy Patient Membership Plan ($420/year for two cleanings, two exams, X-rays, an emergency exam, and 10% off treatment). See our affordable dentistry guide.
Yes — Cannady Dental is a family practice. Dr. Cannady sees kids from their first visit (we recommend by age 1) through the teen years, and families book back-to-back appointments so everyone is seen in one trip. Our kids’ dentistry page explains what a first visit looks like.
Usually, yes. We hold time every day for dental emergencies — toothaches, swelling, a broken or chipped tooth, a lost crown, or a knocked-out tooth. Call or text (727) 441-3523 as early as you can; describe the problem and we will tell you exactly when to come in.
Dr. Christopher Cannady, DMD, at every visit. There are no rotating associates: the dentist who examines you is the one who treats you and who you will see at your next checkup. Read about Dr. Cannady and the team.
Yes. The practice at 1651 Rainbow Dr was known as Suncoast Dental Arts until July 2026, when it was renamed Cannady Dental after Dr. Cannady. Same doctor, same team, same phone number, same 5.0-star Google listing — only the name changed. Read about the name change.
Check three things: verified reviews, whether the same dentist sees you every time, and whether the office can handle what you may need later — crowns, implants, Invisalign, emergencies — without referring you across town. Cannady Dental holds a 5.0-star rating across 502 Google reviews, Dr. Cannady personally sees every patient, and restorative, cosmetic, implant and emergency care are all done in one Clearwater office. The $99 first visit is a low-commitment way to decide for yourself.
Yes, a dentist can remove a tooth that is rotten or broken. The tooth may be gently loosened with an instrument and then extracted, often with local anesthesia. If the tooth is severely damaged, a specialist such as an oral surgeon might be better. In any case, you’ll see a dentist promptly to avoid infection. Call us at (727—441—3523) or book an Emergency dentistry appointment. More info at Contact.
